I'm experiencing a problem with my 1988 Ibanez Rg550. i recently changed the strings on the guitar from Ernie ball regular guage 9s to Ernie ball titanium coated strings (gauges 9-11-16-26-36-46). i fixed the setup, adjusted the spring tension, action, and intonation. ever since then i've lost a lot of sustain and output. the sustain wasnt too great before and i've been considering replacing the saddles (but i probably wont because its not my guitar, its on loan, and im looking to get a new one soon), but now it's worse. the output has also dropped significantly. for example, tapping used to come out very clearly through the amp, now its very quiet, even with a compressor, and its as if the pickups are struggling to pick it up. does anyone know the cause/solution to this problem?
