I can imagine how you feel. This is what I do to prevent stuff like that. I only use one credit/debit card for online purchaces. This Credit/debit card draws from a totally seperate bank account from our normal one. We only put in this account what we intend to spend for said online purchaces. If someone were to steal our number and try to use it it would be declined for lack of funds.

Re: %$#&*+!#@$% MAGGOTS!

I use single-use debit card numbers from paypal. The idea is that they generate a debit card number for you every time you want to make a purchase. You then use this number once and then it becomes invalid. So even if it's stolen, it can't be used. Some banks offer this service on credit cards as well.

You can also use the gift card credit cards. I get one that's a little bit more than whatever the item costs, then just spend the rest at the grocery store or on whatever purchases i would normally make.

thats what i do.only i write cheques out.example say i bought something online for 100 $200 i would go to the bank and pay that amount in.just think its safer that way.

You're obviously dealing with a brilliant thief here. A belt?! Sent to your house?! Isn't usually tons of stereo equipment picked up and hauled away with said thief? As inconvenient as this is for you, it seems anyway that it could have been much worse. Good luck getting this straightened out quickly Darin!

Re: %$#&*+!#@$% MAGGOTS!

Yep, it makes no sense, a belt. I have the email address of the person that ordered it. But what it proves is that, they have my debit card number, they have my name and address, and they have 36" waist. We went to the bank and there were no other charges to the card. We closed the card, shoebuy.com is issuing a refund. The bank guarentees to cover any loses due to fraudulant activity.
