About receiving products in Canada

Good evening everyone,

This is not my account. I'm basically using it to ask one thing regarding customs and delivery. Sorry if this has already been covered on another thread.

Does anyone know anything about receiving products from USA in Canada?

We'd like to buy some DiMarzio pickups - possibly from MF - and have them shipped to a certain destination in Ontario.

Thing is, during my Canadian years, one time I had to personally pick up an envelope at a post office near my location. That happened in Vancouver.

So, what's more likely to happen to a small box full of pickups? Should I expect to pay GST or have to pick it up somewhere?

Thanks in advance,

Leandro

It will probably go to your door. If you are not home they will leave it at the post office for you to pick up. You might have to pay HST and brokerage. It's a gamble really. Sometimes you pay, sometimes you do not. USPS is your best bet.
UPS will rob you on brokerage. Do not use UPS, or Fedex to ship USA to Canada.

So that explains why I had to go to a post office to get my letter.

I'll pass this information forward and we'll think about what to do now. It sounds risky because apparently the person who's willing to receive the package is absolutely unable to pick it up in case something goes wrong.

Thank you very much for all the info!!!
