I'm guessing there are at least a few military personel here on jemsite. To all of you that currently serve or have served in the past, I offer you my humblest and sincerest thank you.

Yes, Happy Veterans Day to all that serve and have served! No small feat to dedicate a portion of one's life to serving your country (and others)!

Veterans Day is also observed the world over as Remembrance Day.
Thank you vets from the US, Canada, Australia, The UK, India, New Zealand, and anywhere it is observed.

Yup! This! We all wear poppies in Canada and the proceeds from sales are donated to Vet things.

Yup, watched on TV the entire Remembrance Day ceremony from Canada's National War Memorial, which was the scene of the horrifying shooting less than a month ago. Ottawa police estimated the crowd to have reached 50,000 people. Typically, about 35,000 people turn out each year. The ceremony was moving, as it always is. Lest we forget.

I remember the poppies from when I was younger in my small home town. Sadly, I haven't seen as much of their presence on Veteran's Day in recent years.

Southeast Arizona... not far from Mexico. I remember getting the poppies from my grandpa's buddies. They were all veterans of foreign wars... WW1/WW2. Maybe thats why I remember the poppies always being around back then.

An soldier is always an soldier. weather he is on duty or off duty. They shows us the great patriotism. They serve for their country leaving their family. I salute them.
