Amstel Beer in the UK

I am looking for somewhere to buy Amstel Beer in the UK. Specifically bottles.

I am located in Southampton in Hampshire, so anywhere within 50 miles or so would be great. Alternatively anyone who would do mail order, even from Europe (I presume there must be a Dutch company). I can get someone to bring soem back from overseas for me, but then I have to get it from Lincolnshire, and it probably wouldn't last the weekend anyway.

I need at least two crates (48 bottles) but would probably want to buy more as I like it so much.

I am going to use the labels to cover a guitar, hence the need for bottles.

Any help or ideas would be great

Re: Amstel Beer in the UK

Why on earth would you want your guitar to be associated with Amstel

i'ts not like it's any good...it's just the low value Heineken label...that looks cooler anyway, with the red star.

The Amstel they sell in Spain would make sense (Aguilar = Eagle) if you were playing a Fender Talon

If you're going to use the labels, you might as well drink the beer and enjoy it, so do one better and put Grolsch labels on it

If you use these:
http://www.grolsch.com/
you can probably ruin some of those caps to decorate your strapbuttons.

Now I know you are joking so it is ok.

I love Amstel. I remember first having Amstel in a youth hostel bar just outside Utrecht. We had been on the bus all the way from England, something like 14 hours. We drank our first beers watching the evening sun casting dappled shadows. Beautiful.

I will never cover a guitar in grolsch labels

Hmmm.....how about Hoegaarden labels?

I've got two weeks in Galway starting in late June, and I'm really looking forward to having some of that nice European beer. It's gotten miles and miles better here recently with the explosion of craft breweries, but I'm still looking forward to getting over there.

Wow, so did I
I bet it was the same youth hostel. If it was 1989 it might have been from the same barrel as well

Hmm, I quite like a Hoegaarden on tap. Carlsberg Export and also Heineken Export on tap is pure!

Stella Artois on the other hand, leads to domestic violence, pub and club fights and a night in the cells.

So true its almost not funny Stella's definately one for the headcases!! I do like carlsberg export too,and enjoy a nice heineken when i go to holland.I likes me kronenburg though, but my favourite is nice cold budweiser.Dont drink it out though coz bottle prices are a rip off.
As for amstel, cant say i've seen it very often. As they do large sports sponsorship you'd think it would be more available

Re: Amstel Beer in the UK

Tell me about it.

Working in the pub, the second somebody orders a Stella I tend to think "O RLY sunshine?" You've got to keep an eye on those wife-beater types...

Re: Amstel Beer in the UK

If you walk into a bar in Manchester and ask for a pint of "wife beater", Stella is what they'll serve ya. It truly is not to be dabbled with !
