Nope, will see it though. I need more proof as to why Yoda would kick Santa's ass.

Re: anyone going to the midnight star wars showing?

I have tickets for the opening night tommorrow at my local cinema, should be pretty good. I couldnt stand the last 2 films, thought they were dire, but this one looks incredible. Wont be as good as the originals obviously, but then I aint expecting that anyway. I wanted to get tickets for the London premier and the "all-day" showing where they showed all 6 in a row in a marathon. The tickets were too damn expensive though.

Re: anyone going to the midnight star wars showing?

I read a review on aintitcool.com and it seemed intriguing, but I haven't even seen the last two so I'm not really jazzed on this one.
I liked the 1st three which are now the last 3, but I don't mean the last three that just came out, I mean the last three of the series, again not meaning the most recent, but the 1st ones that came out, but not the 1st ones in the series, the 1st ones ever to come out. ya know?

I hope so because I'm thinking I might be lost now.

Re: anyone going to the midnight star wars showing?

You know, I recently realized that I really don't like Star Wars as much as most other people seem to. I liked Episode 4 well enough, and Episode 5 and 6 were ok, though I didn't like them as much for some reason. Episode 1 I actually liked, minus the fact that the acting is terrible (even from the good actors). By the time Anakin said "Yippee" for the third time I was starting to worry about George Lucas' mental stability. Episode 2 was ok, though I hated the fact that everything was CG and fake looking. The cool thing about the originals, and even most of Episode 1 was that the sets looked like real places and felt real, in Episode 2 everything seemed really fake, and you could tell the actors were in front of a blue-screen, which just killed it for me.

I did however read an excellent review of the 3rd movie written by Kevin Smith (yes, Silent Bob) who seemed to share my opinions of the other two recent movies, but loved Episode 3. There were some spoilers I won't share here at the moment, but needless to say some of my complaints about Episode 2 are dealt with in Episode 3.

I'm not really into the whole star wars thing like some others, but I would like to see a good movie... I hear that this episode does not disappoint like some of the past episodes.

Re: anyone going to the midnight star wars showing?

The Empire Strikes Back is still my favourite Star Wars movie... there were so many cool things in it, from the mechanical excess of the Imperial Walkers to huge fleets of Star Destroyers, the chase through the asteroid belt, awesome light saber duels and the total shock of Darth Vader's relationship with Luke... who saw that one coming?

The biggest problem with the prequels is that we know how they end. We know who lives and who dies and roughly what the plot arc is that leads into Epsiode IV. Surprises are few and far between, so there's very little plot tension.

I've seen Episodes IV, V and VI dozens of times, but i've only seen Episode I twice (foolishly rented it once just to see if it was as bad as i remembered it being in the theatre) and Episode II once. Hopefully Episode III redeems the last two somewhat.

I'm probably going to wait a couple of days. I have better things to do than to wait in a long line for hours. You know, like play guitar, do housework, or maybe even find a new porn site.

According to Kevin Smith's review of Episode III, it's very very dark much darker than The Empire Strikes Back.

Re: anyone going to the midnight star wars showing?

Yes, this one is supposed to be MUCH darker. Lots, and lots, and LOTS of killin' going on. I mean killing people fatally, until they die from it!
