Thumbs down Bar room fracture 4th metacarpal

Hi guys, this topic has been said over and over, but I didn't break #5, but #4 metacarpal on my chord hand. And I didn't go to the doc, just positioned it myself. It feels week after almost 3 months, and as much as I practice, I do not have the speed on that finger, perhaps because it is offset. Any advice? Perhaps I will get there eventually? Thanks!

I would see a doc.
I'm 41 and have psoriasis and I can feel a touch of pain, possibly arthritis, in the ring finger of my left hand. I know it sucks to have to work through s**t, especially when it concerns something you love doing.
Good luck!

What are you meaning by saying this topic has been said over and over? This is your first post here so I am not sure I have any idea what you are talking about. Please give us some background if you want us to respond.
Thanks.

I had my ring and pinky on my fretting hand dislocated by a dipsh1t boyscout that forgot to take his Ritalin, and I didn't play for almost a year. And it was 10 years before I started having real strength and pop in my pinky again.

Yeah. It's not terribly helpful, but remember this the next time you want to get into a bar fight!

More seriously, go see your doctor and see idf they'll refer you to physical therapy. A good physical therapist may not know much about guitar, but if you go in and show them the kind of motions you're having trouble with, they can probably get you sorted on some drills that will help you recover strength.

And, don't punch anyone with your fretting hand!

Thanks.
I meant that there was a post already referring to boxer's fracture of the 5th metacarpal. Mine is a bar room 4th metacarpal fracture. Sorry.

Lol, I train MMA, but it was done by a bad slip while carrying my baby boy, then my hand was attracted to a big piece of metal sitting around. Ok, it was the other kids' homework table :P

Ouch, well, I guess nice medium speed phrases and chord soloing will suffice for now :-/
