I am considering entering berklee to study guitar, but i was wondering what sort of a job can I get when I graduate will it only be teaching jobs or are there other careers. Maybe something in a recording studio.

Re: Berklee

You can get whatever jobs you're qualified and proactive enough to get.

You could do commercials/jingles, soundbites/tracks(for tv shows, radio stations, etc) teach, session work, songwriting, backup guitarist, etc.

Really, I'd just say google it. There are tons of ways to make money with music besides A:rock star or B:teacher.

Berklee may give you instruction and even open doors through networking-but that's only the opportunity. You have to find what you want to do and find a way to make it happen. That includes working on yourself(people skills) and getting out there.

Re: Berklee

All kinds of jobs!

Flippin burgers, cleaning windows, scrubbing floors, mowing lawns.

Don't go to school for any art unless you want to teach at a college, and then you'll need a Masters or better.

Studios, bands, mans and fans, don't care where you went to school if you don't grab them, and school won't teach you how to to that. Most studios would prefer you NOT go to school for recording. It only helps if you want to teach.

My lady is attaining her MFA for just that reason, tenure!
