Guthrie Govan! the man's a guitar machine!! but there's no 'best'

i'd have to rate Vai up there too, and Brett Garsed

Re: Best guitarist ever?

obviously there is no best ( as the TS stated. ) but right now if i had to choose someone who I believe is the best (phrasing, tech, versatility, composition, etc) id say guthrie govan.

string theories was amazing, for the lack of a better word, it was outerworldly most amazing thing to experience as a whole, not only his guitar playing.

Best Guitarist ever??? Hopefully there is some undiscovered kid out there who'll make us all re-evaluate our opinions. There's just too many great players, not to mention genres to cover! So choosing one player is just "not in the cards" as far as I can tell!

Whoever comes along in the future surely has some big shoes to fill though!

Re: Best guitarist ever?

There was some guy that I saw on the internet who didn't have any arms, but he was able to play guitar with his feet. That's pretty hard to beat.

Yes that´s totally true, like jeremy colson´s drum solo or the violin players, but steve´s not only the most virtuoso he´s an incredible music composer

I totally agree! His composition skills are incredible! Seeing Vai this year was a great experience! One I'll never forget!
