Maybe they were lost. At the very least, it is nice to know someone is driving their Chiron in the real world. For some trivia, the Rolls Royce is relatively new and humbly named after the the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever found. (Cullinan is actually the last name of the person who owned the mine in which the diamond was found, but that focus may not lead to higher car sales.)

I would like to see a production car exceed 300 mph and have that race be over. Then I would like to see what these new cars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Mercedes Project One are capable of around the Nurburgring. Since the people who can afford these cars are usually not the same one's setting these records, my safety concerns are for the race car drivers who know what they are doing. A supercar sitting in a garage with other supercars is usually pretty safe.

Re: Bugatti Chiron, 0-400-0, 42 seconds

Bugatti is going to stop competing In terms of speed and focus on other areas, according to their press release. I think this is wise, but I also think there are other limiting factors like tires and physics that will make any improvement minimal. Not to mention, this is not really a safe activity.

I do think Koenigsegg will give it a try. Volkswagen probably won’t do this but if they let Koenigsegg use their track, that would be a very decent offer. I imagine it is safer than a road in Nevada and sales are not really something they seem to worry about. I think they have the same clients.

Pagani Imola - It is a 2 in 1: race car + road car, sort of like shampoo + conditioner.
