Buying or selling on Jemsite

Hi guys,

This may seem like a daft question, but what exactly is the process of buying and selling guitars on Jemsite?

I've had a reasonably bad experience when buying and selling in the past in terms of being scammed, and so I tend to try to stick to eBay because of the protection it affords. I would like to sell my Ibanez Jem90HAM, but I'd like to know how that would work on a forum with safety for both parties.

Thanks in advance!

Craig

As a buyer you are ultra safe if using PayPal.

Re: Buying or selling on Jemsite

You can check members' iTrader stats in the tool bar above (between calendar & new posts) for a start. I have done several good deals with people on here including buying two guitars. One was England to Scotland and another was USA to England. You can work out privately whether you pay cash in hand if you meet up or you can use Paypal if shipping. You can generally get a good feel for someone from what they contribute on this site but of course that's no guarantee of good credit!
You can certainly state your terms of agreement in your advert as well as in private messaging, whether you will wait until funds have cleared before sending the guitar or what your returns policy is. To some degree it will be a gentleman's agreement but then that's why most people will use PayPal, even if you might need to pay a little extra.

All the best with your trading!
