Combat flight sims - GIMME!

Allright, people.
I just went for a trip down memory lane and discovered what a bunch of great flightsims there were available in the past. Hind, Comanche 3, MFS...
Therefore, I am now on the hunt for more recent combat flight sims titles to play! Mega bonuspoints for chopper sims!

I loved F22 Lighting-2 back when it came out, i havent really found anything that can compete with it since. The last flight sim i can think of was called "Lock on" i think. I didnt really like it very much though.

Flight sims! Loved them!

Back in the windows 98 days I played them loads. I've got an F-16 game and F-22 lightening 3.

They don't work on Windows XP Compatibility mode doesn't do it either.

There doesn't seem to be any new sims now, as if the game makers can't be bothered anymore.

I really want to get back into it now, especially working at an RAF base has got me back into aviation again!

Yeah mate, Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator. I've played it before. Kind of hard, but well-made!

What sort of thing do you do at the RAF base. Sounds exciting.

I'd have to +1 CFS but I'm biased.. My Father designed a lot of the planes & some of the missions etc. Specifically the Defense of Austrailia missions among others. : )

Re: Combat flight sims - GIMME!

The reason why there aren't flight sim games nowadays is because of 9/11.

I´ll recommend Hind to everyone. You can download it free ánd legal off Abandonia - while graphics are plain by today´s standards, the flight model is arguably the best one ever created, and the game missions are very versatile and fun, actually! Really reflects to flexibility of the chopper.
