Compton shipping woes, help!

so i recently bought a used Carvin Legacy off E.bay

i used a freight forwarding service because the seller would only ship to the States
its a well known service, alot of people here use it.

Seller > Warehouse in the US for processing > sent to me in Singapore
two warehouses, either Compton,CA or Portland,OR.

i told the seller to send it to the warehouse to Compton, since he was living in Irvine.
he has sent it and it has been received and signed for at Compton.

here's the problem,
i received an email from the service, telling me

"Kindly be informed that if this package is to be delivered to our office at Compton then please re-direct it to Portland as no amplifiers are allowed to ship out from Compton."

i also called their hotline, and they told me it was due to 'strict customs'...

and i have to pay for the 're-direction'
it doesn't say anywhere on their site of such a policy.

any of you know anything about this?
would really appreciate any advice i could get

Never heard of this before. Can't think of a reason why an amp couldn't come... ahem, 'Straight Outta Compton'
