Unhappy Computer tech help needed ??

Hi folks,

I'm running XP through a Xerox LCD monitor and it's running with an Nvidia geforce RX5200.

Today I got the message that windows had been stopped due to an error.
It said that there was some kind of infinate loop and that the problem file was nv4-disp.

My monitor often clicks off and says no signal. I was wondering if this might be a driver problem and hoping some of you skilled guys out there could give me any ideas.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Computer tech help needed ??

I've just downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the Nvidia site and when since I was prompted to reboot I havn't had any problems BUT.....

..Do you think this will solve things as my wife needs to use the PC for work tomorrow and I'm realy not sure what to do.

Re: Computer tech help needed ??

Hey Ben, I used to get that error when I had an 5200, I think it's a problem in the drivers.

If you goto and the 'download drivers' at the top left, then 'graphics drivers' in the first column, 'GeForce and TNT2' in the second, and whatever version of XP you are running, you can download the latest drivers.

Failing that, it's probably a design fault. I cannot remember if the new drivers fixed my issue or not.

Hope this works!

EDIT: Aha, beat me to it. If you can, also update drivers for any other hardware you havn't updated recently. If it still buggers up on you, then down with the 5200 I say!
