Creating a Web Site ;)

Hey guys...

How can I create a web site with my videos and Info about me or my band??

And maybe someday create a forum..(The first portuguese guitar forum.....OMG...I would love to do that....)

Is it very hard to manage a forum? create it? and the website(programs, tips, etc....)?

EDIT: I already created websites in Frontpage(Yeah it sucks) and in dreamweaver...but these aren't very powerfull tools....btw....this type of site is created in which program?
Thanks

Re: Creating a Web Site ;)

If you want one of the top quality sites with all the bells & whistles, graphics, videos, etc etc...then you're going to have to know some html.

As far as forums/message boards. A bazillion of those are available online. Some are "free" but you have to contend with ads, or you can pay the annual fee and go "commercial free".
www.proboards.com is one of them....there are others.

Dreamweaver is definitely a powerful application for designing web pages. The beauty of it is that it can also be very simple for people starting out to do basic things. Don't underestimate it! Frontpage on the otherhand...........

well it's based on InvisionBoard Forum. I have news, interviews, aticles sections and also open sectionf for free music/guitar disscustions... I've changed forum header so now it look more like a web site (not forum ) now. it realy needs HTML knowlidge... but it's very simple language

Re: Creating a Web Site ;)

Hey there. If you're wanting just a basic website that is totally free, look no further than Tripod. It's great and it's what I use.

Visit www.tripod.com for info.

There is also a facility for programming HTML too if you'd like videos etc.

For a free forum, you can get yourself one at www.bravenet.com. Good luck!

Re: Creating a Web Site ;)

You can pay me $5000 and give me the audio and video and images you want, a rough design and I will do it for you

You can also learn html fairly easily. It's not bad at all, nor is php if you know any of the basics of programming.

Re: Creating a Web Site ;)

Try learning some HTML, it might be a pain in the short run, but it'll really give you more freedom after a while.

Try to use something like Dreamweaver aswell so you can see the design that your generating from the code.

Good luck!
