DMB Sax player dead

One down, four to go

It is with a heavy heart that we report that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist for the Dave Matthews Band has passed away. His death was caused from complications stemming from an ATV accident he suffered on 6/30/2008. No further information is available at this time.

Re: DMB Sax player dead

As much as I hate to say it, I have actually grown to like some of Dave Mathew's stuff. I remember when they could hardly get 40 people in a club in Richmond back in the day, and then they blew up. They used to be a joke band, but I guess the joke's now on us who were making the jokes.

Maybe there will be a funeral like this one:

Damn.

Nobody seemed to know who the hell DMB were here in Australia until about 3 or 4 years ago. I guess this is hard to comprehend for the Americans here but when I first started listening to them in about 1998 they were considered underground here!

Yeah that is pretty sad.

I'm in the same boat as Petie, I remember hanging out at a mates place (I'm sure he knows who) watching DMB live DVDs on his families huge projector screen and awesome audio system. They were playing to huge crowds in the States, and barely anyone seemed to know who they were in Australia.

I quite like their music, and it is a sad day to hear he's passed away.

Re: DMB Sax player dead

classic cid. all jokes aside, it's too bad and such a loss for his family and friends. that's no good. on a "music" note, i will never understand how they became as big as they did. luckily i was never subjected to much of it but from what i heard, again, luckily not much, it's vague watered-down college boy frat nothingness. watered-down warm kool aid on a hot summer day, at best. my 2 cents. another one i can never understand while i'm on it, is the smashing pumpkins. that "singer" went to our highschool and was a few years ahead of me. i heard all the stories...he was a loser, never spoke to anyone, and wrote these songs that made no sense and blew off school all the time. a loaner. maybe we should stop thinking in our writing and things will turn around for us all.

Re: DMB Sax player dead

I always thought DMB was just a singer and guitar player away from being a really good band.

Re: DMB Sax player dead

I guess I'm too dense to understand your point.

I'm just appreciating the value of a life. So a band members passing is reason for you to "cheer" about a reunion???

Best work on them kicks Cid
