Do you guys still buy CDs?

I was just looking for a photo and stumbled upon a photo of my CD collection back in 2006.
Not than many CDs, I believe I had over 500 but never quite reached 600.
I did get CD racks later on.

Anyway, back then and much later, as late as 2012 I was not very keen on the whole itunes disposable tracks thing and preferred the actual tangible CD experience. Especially considering the CDs retailed for 9ish from Play/Rakuten and 7.99 on itunes so to me having an actual CD was worth the extra 1 and waiting a couple of days for delivery.

Today however, thanks to Spotify (on the go) and Youtube (at home), I don't think I've bought a new CD album in 4 or 5 years.
Anyway, do any of you guys still buy actual CDs (SACD/DVD Audio) anymore?

Incidentally 2006 was also the year I moved from 19" CRT monitor to 20" LCD one, and also bought my first LCD TV as well (only 26") so many things have changed but the CD thing surprised me.

I don't buy cds anymore. My newest computer does not have an optical drive. I liked CDs but I don't want to buy a separate drive.

Yes, I do too. Although I can't tell you the last time I paid full price for a brand new, recently released cd. I tend to buy second hand or new if the price is a bargain. I'm pretty fond of vinyl too. The whole ceremony of putting a record on... lovely!

I still buy CD's from my fave artists...even if I buy the album on iTunes (e.g. Sean Bodley's last album) I still burn it to a CD for easy listening in my truck...

Re: Do you guys still buy CDs?

I do occasionally because I have a system in my truck and CD sound quality is significantly better to my ears than any mp3 or other digital files.

Re: Do you guys still buy CDs?

I buy all my music on CDs, used online, for better sound quality at home. I then convert the tracks I like to MP3 for my on-the-go tunes.

I still do. In addition to what others have mentioned about sound quality, I also like to have the packaging. I like the album covers and liner notes.

Re: Do you guys still buy CDs?

I do. I dont buy that many anymore as not many bands I like are releasing new music but I like to have something in my hand for the money I spend. I have around 2500 cds ATM.

I only ever used Itunes once when Van Halen released their last album and Itunes had a couple of full songs on it a week or so before the cd was released....

Re: Do you guys still buy CDs?

I buy only special things on CD. Everything else is digital download. I prefer CD's but all the storage space required has gotten to be nuts after 25 years of buying them. I actually have a bunch stored in a warehouse along with a bunch of DVD's and BluRays. I only keep what I really love out.
