DVR-DVD Burner

I don't know if any of you guys have run into these or used them, but i'm looking for something that is similar to a digital cable dvr unit (pause tv, record shows to a hard disk) but also has the capability to burn those shows to dvd, without having to rewatch the show. There was one philips unit i saw, but i cannot find if it's just a recorder or if you can burn what you already have recorded on the HD to DVD without rewatching.

here is the only one i can find http://www.consumer.philips.com/cons...r+DVDR3576H-37

Thanks Guys

Re: DVR-DVD Burner

good question. i'm not sure. how does it record to hard drive, and from what source? i don't think it's smart enough to have shows programmed like with your standard dvr box. i would like to keep some things i record off the dvr to dvd as well. my mom has a unit just like this philips but i believe she has to record to dvd in realtime.

Re: DVR-DVD Burner

Connect a media center PC with dual TV cards, and DVD burner. This allows you to watch while record another show, or record 2 shows at the same time, and you can whack in 2 terabyte HD if you want.

or you can buy a phillips thingo.

PC allows you to organise your shows for the week the month or year and you never miss anything.

PC's are good for eveyrthing.... man Im a geek
