Re: The Fishing Thread

Semi retired fly fisher here.

Used to fish a lot when I was younger and lived in teh highlands of Scotland.

Now once a year or so when I go back

Best catch was a 15lb salmon, running fresh, which I poached from a very exspensive salmon river

Haha, the way I see it, it was my right to fish there, I'm a local lad, and couldn't afford the $4000 a week license.

Re: The Fishing Thread

i know how you feel! ive been in similar situations fishing in very populated areas. old farts that live in condos with more money than they know what to do with call the cops when my friends and i try to catch fish in the dock lights. i dont see why they are mad, i think they would rather us be fishing than say....... stripping their cars or slashing tires?

I'm a bass fishing fanatic. I go every chance I get. To me it's just like being on stage in the aspect that every worry is gone and your head is completely clear.

Re: The Fishing Thread

I fly fish for trout and salmon. Mostly river fishing. I also enjoy building fly rods. Here are photos of some of the rods I've built. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...1904.658809035 (you may have to be logged onto facebook to view that link)

Great thread idea! I fish, too. I'll be heading down to Seward, Alaska on the Kenai penninsula over the 4th of July weekend for some halibut fishing--will report back with some "fish tales."

Re: The Fishing Thread

Bass fishing fanatic here. I just got back from Falcon Lake and am planning another trip back to Falcon. My life seems to revolve around either going to or coming back from a bass fishing trip.

I like guitars, but I love bass fishing. I could do it every day if I could make a good living at it, but sadly that's impossible for 99% of the fishermen out there.

Yeah mackerel are fun to catch and great eating. I try to get out and do that at least a couple of times during the season.
