Garageband (dot) com is being taken down

Just got an email from them. Apparently it (like mp3.com) is being taken down for whatever reasons. One less venue for unknown artists to reveal themselves.

What next? Soundlick??

I remember when mp3.com got bought out. I was very upset. This, to me, is a big step backwards in the underground music industry. Garageband has been around since I was in highschool. As a matter of fact, my old highschool band is STILL on there!

Re: Garageband (dot) com is being taken down

I dunno. It was one of the older style [email protected] headers, so it was real and all it pretty much said was the site was being taken down July 16th. There's hardly any info on the site, only just that iLike bought out their hosting section which may have alot to do with it.

Side note: I just checked out the site and they finally did put a note up, and are offering refunds for Gold Members. They are also pretty much telling you to make a Myspace if you don't have one... -_-
