Red face Has anyone used Kickstarter?

I have a few projects that could potentially benefit from something like Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Upstart...

I'm just curious if anyone has any experience with any of these? If so, what did you think?

Any help or feedback would be awesome!

Re: Has anyone used Kickstarter?

I would recommend gofundme.

IMO, it is better than KS, because you keep all the money if you do not meet your goal. I used it before, when I couldn't travel to college auditions, and it made it all possible (you know who you are)!

As a funder I like Kickstarter better, as I won't be funding a project that does not reach its goal. Less risk of "I funded a project that won't happen, at least they got my money".

Re: Has anyone used Kickstarter?

I tried kickstarter and it was a trainwreck embarrassment. I had a great writeup, nice video, put hours into the thing. I got 5% of the goal. Seems like unless you're a chick with a nice rack, you won't get far. I touched base with a few artists and they had maybe 10% goal reached if they were lucky. You really need to spread the word around, as regulars who go to kickstarter won't see you, as you are placed way at the bottom. Good luck.
