Help with adware issues!

somehow an adware program called Purity Scan is embedded itself in my computer and i can't remove it. i have Norton and Ad-aware and neither can fully remove it. it is such a pain to have these pop-ups that get past my pop-up blockers.
i read that i need to turn off the prosseses in start up/safe mode (not sure how to do it). i also read that Purity Scan will give you an uninstaller but i am very nervous to install anything from them on my computer on purpose seeing as they are the root of my problems in the first place.
HELP!!

I use AVG Free and AdAware, they work great and are both free.

Re: Help with adware issues!

I have tried just about everything out there, and the best so far is called Superantispyware. Unlike the others I have used, this program has alwyas been able to remove something and keeps it removed after reboot. Its free and heres the link: http://www.superantispyware.com/
