Help me my brit friends: "MK"???

Hi! Maybe our british friends can help me with this: what's the origin of the MK (mark?) expression? Obviously, I've seen it on Marshall amps, but then I've seen applied to differente subjects, like Deep Purple Mk. II referring to a lineup. Does it have to do with the MK in british postal addressess?

Thanks!

Re: Help me my brit firends: "MK"???

It's just an abbreviation for mark, which means version. I guess it's a British thing.

MK in postal adresses is "Milton Keynes" and nothing to do with any version of anything!
