Here comes the pain...

Any MMA fans here? (I know Gilk420 is)

Check THIS out:

Quote:
Brock getting ready to fight...

Brock Lesnar announced last night in Las Vegas that he has joined the K-1 promotion and will have his first mixed martial arts fight in 2007. Lesnar has been training for awhile now and MMA legend Royce Gracie announced that he will serve as Lesnar's trainer. Right now, Lesnar's first fight is scheduled for February for K-1's HERO'S group.

Brock Lesnar trained by Royce Gracie (insert stunned smiley)

The guy is gonna be tearing people's heads off left, right and centre. Anyone with that kind of athletic ability being harnessed by someone with the knowledge of Gracie is going to be unstoppable.

Just in case anyone is unaware of his credentials, the guy is a former NCAA heaveyweight amateur wrestling champ is about 6"6 and about 320 pounds of rock solid muscle. He was in the WWE for a short time and whilst he was there, managed to do a backwards somersault off of the top turnbuckle and landed on his head then get up and throw another near 300 pound guy over his head. This man is a MANIAC.

Honestly, after he's got about 10-15 fights or so under his belt I think the guy will be unstoppable.

For those that don't know him, here he is.

You do not want to meet this guy in a dark alley at night...

Would you tell him his tattoo looked crap? lol

EDIT: Here's the somersault bump (albeit not from a very good angle) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDQOtlpnXq4

Wowza!! I knew he was coming but I had no idea it was going to be K-1 or that Royce was going to train him. Oh sweet lordy. There isn't a heavyweight who has a chance against him. Nice clip by the way, he would've broken his neck...if he HAD one!

Wow, I can't wait to see this, Brock is the real deal. Very interesting that he is starting in K-1 considering that he is ground guy? Wonder how he will do against the Kickboxers? Oh man would I love to watch him tear Bob Sapp a new one...

Re: Here comes the pain...

That's what I thought (about the ground thing) but there again who could stand toe to toe with him?

Bob Sapp is a total hack IMHO, he's already been exposed Not that I'd tell him that, lol

Re: Here comes the pain...

Oh and K-1 probably threw a heck of a lot of money his way (that they'll of saved after the Tyson fiasco blew through.) Brock is a huge draw in Japan no matter what he's doing, so this could be a major coo for K-1.

Re: Here comes the pain...

he needs to lay off the roids..

and a guy his size isnt going to be most effective on the ground.

My room mate trains at Gracies gym here in Ohio and they told him he needs to take some of his bulk off if he wants to be truly succesfull..

This guy is just roided up and entirely to bulky to do ground work..

Re: Here comes the pain...

Negative, he roided up while he was in the WWE, but while he was an all-American for years in NCAA he wasn't. That picture above, that's the normal him when he's not on the juice. Scary. Bulk is not a good thing if you are BJJ, but it is fine if you are Greco Roman which Brock is. Ask Royce Gracie and Matt Hughes about bulk. He most certainly is most effective on the ground, he is a Greco Roman guy and now being trained by Royce?!?! He is a machine.

Re: Here comes the pain...

Lesnar is a wrestler. He's been training in the MMA for what, a little over a year on and off? Gracie will teach him JJ but he should really get as much training in stand up as well. MMA and wrestling are 2 totally different things. It doesnt matter that he's some huge looking monster, somebody puts him in a rear naked choke or gets a quick combo on him and it's over.
