Thumbs up Holy F#@%ing Crap Boy Wonder

So my wife's been away on business for two weeks. She comes home Saturday. I'm home with my boy Ian (11 months) the whole time and everything is basically been smooth... until an hour ago.

I mistakenly left the laundry room door ajar as I was upstairs putting Ian's laundry away. A couple minutes later I go down to check on him and he's a different color. I mean he's like grey/green and so is the carpet and so is the marble floor leading to the laundry area.

Dude snuck in there and tipped a quart of latex paint on the floor in my absence... tracked it a solid 15 feet over stone tile and carpet to the baby gate that kept him confined to the downstairs.

When I discovered him I just about flipped out. I really couldn't believe what I was seeing. I ran him to the tub and washed him clean - luckily he didn't appear to have injested any but merely crawled through it. The paint puddle was [email protected]#%ing huge!!!! I wish I could have taken some photos but there was no time. I had to get that boy clean and try to get the carpet before the paint dried. My arms feel like rubber right now from the super-intense scrubbing.

I think I got it out of the carpet (mostly) and the stone tile. The laundry room is another story altogether. I'm gonna be a busy mofo tommorow trying to get the 6x4 foot paint trail cleaned off the floor.

I'm on to a Sam Adams Octoberfest for now. Time to calm back down! What a f$#%ing night. I'll laugh about this years from now! Holy shi..

BB

EDIT - I shot some pics of the aftermath...I managed to clean the carpet and tile the best I could fow now. My wife is gonna lose it.

The culprit...(my fault of course!) Just hours before the big spill

You richly deserve it, and have good taste, to boot!

Wow - lucky he didn't want to "taste" it, as most kids are prone to doing.

Geez - I think I'll go have an Octoberfest after just reading that!

Damn Bruce! Sounds like you had a fun night! I would try to get some really hot water tomorrow and pour some of it on the floor, it'll probably dissolve it quicker so you can wipe it clean. Holly (my wife) and I were just thinking how interesting it'll be come next month when our new permanent guest arrives.

I hope the cleaning up turns up fine, and if you need a set of hands, give me a holler.

Jimmy

That's what I'll tell my wife. We'll see how it goes.

Yep, Ian kinda looked like that little dude on the right when I discovered him.

Wow, sounds like a real mess. I work for my brother part time doing carpet/tile cleaning. I can ask if he recommends anything for removal.

Re: Holy F#@%ing Crap Boy Wonder

With a lot of hot water, a scraper, a rough sponge, and some elbow grease I managed to get the giant puddle cleared last night. If I didn't know better I might think it never happened. Today I'm going to try and steam clean the carpet. Whew...

Re: Holy F#@%ing Crap Boy Wonder

Wow..... Ahhhh, don't you just love parenthood? Hot water and a mild detergent should get up the paint in the carpet as long as it's stayed moist.

Kids gotta love them no matter what..... It's the "no matter what" part that gets ya every time. I do guarantee you will look back on this and laugh!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry !! At least no harm done to your lad

When my daughter was about that age she somehow got hold of some bleach floor cleaner and took a sip - we were really worried but no harm done, thankfully. You can't take your eyes off them for a second

Indeed. It's been a tough year. The last thing I need is dude drinking paint! All's well however. All but the carpet.
