Homeowners insurance increase.

Is an increase of 40 bucks a year too much or is that average. I'm from Indiana.

That seems too much of an increase to me. I'm not an expert with this. Wonder what made them increase it by that much? Location, incidents in the neighborhood, etc?

$40 of what total premium? It's very possible since flood laws changed and certain areas pay more for being near "flood zones" even if you're not in a floood zone. Also if you make a claim you might lose a 10% claim-free discount. call them and ask why it went up... glen

I think it also depends upon what you're paying a year, what your deductible is, what you're insured for
