How is winter going in your part of the world?

Thought I'd start a thread to see how winter is going for all you Jemsiters - if you're in the southern hemisphere then I guess the question is not applicable but up here in western Canada it's been colder and snowier than usual...looking forward to spring.

Thought i'd throw in some Canadian humour for you:

I grew up in south Florida. I might sound like an a-hole but I'm getting tired of having no seasons. We might move but it seems like it's getting expensive to live anywhere.

I don't think I would miss shoveling my driveway and scraping the ice off my windows every morning

had some snow earlier this week, now a windy storm is approaching the country and the warm air meets the cold air and we'll get some snow again plus some ice on the ground as a bonus. The temps will drop down to -8°C maybe less in some places...
By the way I live on the east of France

It was -8 C here this morning - and like you we also have icy conditions as a bonus too. Earlier this month we had more heavy snow but then it warmed up and rained one afternoon and then it cleared up and got really cold so the roads were like sheets of ice covered snow - and they only sand or salt the main roadways so all of the side roads like the one I live on are sheets of ice covered snow...but it's been sunny and +1 C the last couple of days so it's breaking up some of the ice on the roads thankfully. It's been unusually cold and snowy here on the west coast of Canada because it's usually pretty mild here in the winter compared to the rest of Canada.

First snow of winter this morning, which means the whole city will grind to a stop.

We don't do winters well in England.

Vancouver is like that too - snow grinds everything to a halt here because the vast majority of drivers here don't see enough show to actually get used to driving in it so it creates chaos...

Well, it's 80 something degrees here today and a nice deep blue sky. Nicest day of the year so far!

Yeah sure, rub it in why don't ya...lol The pile of snow in the parking lot here is about 8 feet high. And now it's going to warm up to 5 Celsius and rain for the next 5 days, which will get rid of some of the snow but it's going to be a sloppy mess all week =( Wish I was in Florida right now...

Celsius? What's that?
(Sorry, as an American science guy I had to throw that out there...)
