I almost got struck by lightning tonight, and caught it on film

We had a mad crazy strom tonight with hail, 60mph winds, you know, the works. We don't get to many storms like this, so I went out on my 2nd story porch with my camera and took some killer shots of some bolts that hit about 100 to 200 feet (could have been as little as 50-75, hard to tell) down my street, plus our apartment also got hit about 5 min after the video was shot too, which blew the lines down the street. I uploaded it to yourtube for all to see.

I've always loved lightning, and going out in storms and such.

Sweet! I love storms too....they give me a buzz.....especially tornadoes! Something about them. (as long as they are not coming at you or rampaging through cities) We used to chase them out on the plains of CO. The awesome power of mother nature....scary, yet beautiful.

And lightning (Lugh for you freaks

Too bad you didn't get hit. Maybe you'd have been turned into the guitar superhero or something

Yeah, this went across the East Coast last night, and it was wild. I watched that video with my son Seamus, and he's learned a new word! Turns out his cereal was f*cking sweet this morning

Yep. We had the same storm here. I'm not sure how far south it went, but it was at least to the MD/DE line. Man, that was a hell of a light show!

there was a storm once when i was playing golf. we were only 2 holes from the end so we kept going just so we could brag about holding metal things above our heads in a storm like that

I live in western Mass and we got it too. Good thing you survived. That said, I know one of the only people to ever survive a direct hit by lightning... but no he couldn't predict the future or anything cool like that.
