Legal Advice?

ok without going into so much detail, I know someone who is addicted to prescription pill's, and they have medicade which enables them to get this without paying and they are abusing the suppliments they are receiving, is there anyway a court can have someone's medicade removed for this sole purpose and if so where do I begin to look?

Re: Legal Advice?

Maybe seek advice from your own GP? Unless he/she is also the person you are talking about's GP also?

Re: Legal Advice?

Probably be better off talking to a family member of this person, any legal action would more than likely take a long time

It's none of your business. Addictions to prescription drugs is the American way. From housewives addicted to black beauties in the 70's, Valium in the 80's, Zanax in the 90's, Prozac today, it's a tradition. Don't screw with traditions!

Re: Legal Advice?

It's a very slippery slope Eddie. The bottom line is this: unless you can help the person to not want the drug anymore, you will not be helping. To get their supply cut off will only make them turn to more shady ways of getting it. And they WILL get it. Work on getting the person to not want it anymore, that is the only way you can help.

Exactly......

Does "said" person have any hobbies or interests (other than pills) that you could help to sway them back into?? Find something for them to "want more" Remind them of things that (are/were) more important to them.

There is a great power in "love" and it's awesome that you obviosly have that for this person good man!

I dont think Rich meant to offend. I took it as a tongue and cheek slam on pill additions thru periods. And it's a tradition that doctors medicate us with the "Pill of the Month".

Eddie: I am sorry to hear that someone you love is addicted to Prescription drugs. The only thing I would be careful of, is if you report the person for abuse now. When they have serious health issues later will the government agency you report them too, not let them file for medicaid.

In so many cases prescription drugs are just a way for people to get messed up with out worrying about the police.
