Smile Life's too short, SOOO....

...what's your advice?

Life's too short... WAY too short!! What should we do to live it up?? How can we "seize the day"? Advice is always good..

I don't know. I've been thinking a lot lately..
I'm going to travel the world,
fall in love,
write a really, REALLY good song,
help lots of people less fortunate than me,
bring justice to victims of alcoholism,
and make five people smile per day (I've already been doing that for a long time now... All you have to do is tell someone their eyes are pretty, that their shirt looks good on them... Just make sure you're honest!!!!!)

Anyways!
Let's do this!!

Definitely travel, but you know what, I wouldn't worry about the whole world just yet, I would see America first. I have had the luxury of traveling the world because of being in the military, but the places I want to see most now are in the US, like the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, etc etc. See America first, then worry about the rest of the world.

SSHHHHH!!!

You do know I'm a bar manager don't you?!

Seriously though, I barely drink anymore because it makes me sad what alcohol can do to good people.

Funnily enough, this is something I actually do anyway, I just wish everybody did it.

I think a great way to sieze the day is to know something when you go to bed at night that you didn't know that morning (and when I say that, I mean to learn something significant, not "Oh, they painted the local bus stop green today")

Just stop trying to do that, and all will fall into place. Life is what happens when you're busy making plans.

Re: Life's too short, SOOO....

to make every moment count- to seize the day - enjoy every minute. To me, seizing the moment can occur by doing small things, like being concious of every breath you take, feeling the oxygen fill the lungs...
and being thankful for it.

Go outside and smell the trees and fresh air, feel the sun on your face. Try new food, drink, listen to new music, and play your guitar like nobody's watching.

If your concious about the small gifts, the day will feel longer, richer, and more valuable. When you forget about those things, days just sort of drift away and become forgotten.

Now now Alfred. Just because someone enjoys a few beers now and then DOESN'T make them an alchoholic

Don't try too make your dreams happen too quickly ~Little K. You have a long life ahead of you. Seems like your head is in the right place! That's good

Re: Life's too short, SOOO....

the exhuberance of youth

really though as a society on average life is probably not too short... if anything we live too long and can often outlive our usefulness as we age.

but it's true that the finer moments of life are too short and too infrequent. we all can work on trying to remedy that at any age... glen

ps - keep in mind alcoholics are victim too... like a mental prison

Perfect analogy. It's very sad to see when it happens to people you care about.

To me, a lot of these guys just exist. Get up early, work at the factory all day, go straight to the pub, go home, sleep... repeat the next day. The exact opposite of siezing (sp?) the day, which is why it's part of my job to give them something to laugh about or talk about. A sad job at times to be honest, I can't wait to move on to PC maintenance because not only does it pay much better, but people don't realise what a drain it is to constantly give advice on life problems and have a smile plastered on my face. That's why I keep a laptop on the bar to keep me half sane, lol.

Thats how I look at things too actually. You know you have gained some ground when you learn something new.
