Low Carb Recipes! (Mainly for keto/low carb diets)

I have a few recipes that I have found and tried with GREAT results. I'm currently on a keto diet called the anabolic diet, where your body is turned from a carb burning body to a fat burning body. Essentially, it enables you to build muscle while simultaneously losing fat. It's working great!

One downside - it's very difficult to resist carb cravings for me. Some people can live on steak, eggs, olive oil, ground beef, etc forever. I am not one of those people. I love pizza and ice cream and pancakes. So, I will share 3 of my favorite recipes that I've had wonderful success with!

-------------Cauliflower Pizza

Ingredients
1 1/2 cup riced cauliflower
3 eggs
2 1/2 cup cheese
Low carb pizza sauce
Seasonings of choice - I use oregano, parsley, and basil with some garlic salt
-any toppings you want. I like just cheese but I've used bell peppers, bacon etc with great success

Directions

-Rice cauliflower with cheese grater and put in microwave for 7 minutes
-preheat oven to 450
-after cauliflower is heated, drain exess water. Add to bowl with 1 1/2 cup cheese and 3 eggs, and mix evenly.
-pour your crust mix onto a pizza pan, spread evenly.
-add seasonings
-put crust in oven for about 13-14 minutes
-when crust is done, apply pizza sauce and 1 cup of cheese (mozzarella and a little cheddar is my way)
-put back in oven until cheese melts, generally 2-3 min

Take out, slice, and enjoy! It tastes amazingly like real pizza and the nutrition is EXTREMELY low carb, high in fat and high in protein. Perfect for a keto diet. Ill post nutrition facts when I get home.

---------------Avocado Ice Cream

---------------Protein Pancakes

^^^ will add above recipes later phones almost dead

Google the anabolic diet - optimizes hormone levels for muscle gain while in caloric deficit. You have higher testosterone and manipulate your GH secretion and insulin levels by carb loading on the weekends. My strength has been pretty steady on all major movements and size has gone up while bf had gone down. Keto diets actually aren't bad for mass if you do tem correctly, but the anabolic diet is a hybrid of sorts since your not constantly in ketosis. It's legit bro. I started it at 202 1 1/2 mos ago and am at 203 with less bf and more mass.
Pretty legit.
Still squatting 315-425 deep for reps and reverse benching 275-315 for reps. Feels great too.

Good thread. I could stand to drop a few Lbs at the moment. I've got some good recipes I'll post if I can find, including an award winning original (really).

Losing weight is no big secret nor is it complex. If you burn more calories than you take in you lose weight. Yes, it is that simple. Eat what you want but not a lot of it.

That's true, and for a woman or a little skinny man, you need no more.

But for those of us who have muscle mass to maintain, it's a little more difficult than that.

You can eat what you want but not a lot of it. Eat a well balanced diet with calorie reduction and you will get both things you want. I have lost 87 pounds and doubled my physical strength.

Instead of eating a whole pizza I eat one or two slices. You gotta exercise also

Definitely true. When you start working out as a novice, regardless of caloric intake your strength will increase, and fat will be lost.

It's once your goals become more specific and more difficult to obtain that you can use different diet methods, such as the anabolic diet.

Every day I eat about

Fat 180g
Protein 195g
Carbs >30g
Fiber 30-50g

And this helps me lose fat and gain mass. Something that is nearly impossible to accomplish past your noob stages with any other sort of diet.

Call me when you lift big boy weights xD

If you don't eat very exactly, you WILL stop gaining. Theres also the low energy levels you have to over come, along with lack of nutrients. Be sure to eat vitamins. I've been doing this stuff since you were in grade school. I recommend you make sure you know you're getting yourse;f into. 1.5 months is an insignificant time to measure gains. Its a fairly radical diet, and you're too small to worry about this kind of stuff yet to be completely blunt (unless you're 5'2"...). If you wanna do it to cut down, its a great way to do it, but dont expect drastic results from a simple diet change, unless you're eating mcdonalds for three meals a day to begin with.
