Talking My apologies

Well, yesterday I opened a stupid thread that pissed off everyone.
Other than that it was not very clear what happened.

So, it was just like this. For years I send and receive gifts form my friends in US. This year I bought the gifts a bit latter than usual so I bought a book for a friend living in the US. When I reached the postal office I was told US won't accept any package heavier than 400 grams. I was really confused cause I thought I didn't pack it good. I opened it and tried to explain the lady at the office I can pack it better. Also I asked the custom officer to check it out for drugs, bombs whatever. I was told I can send no pack heavier than 400 grams, no matter who checks it out or how well I pack it. I was very upset as it was a simple book that weighed a little above the limit. Also I told the lady at the office if she remember I have send this year a big pack to US. She said it's a new rule.

In the end I bought a lighter book that I think my friend will love to read.

Today I called at the US embassy to ask information about this limitation as I was suggested by "moebius" but the lady at the other end answered very angry and told me US embassy is not responsible for situations like this. Well, she had a tone like she wanted to kill me. I asked where should I ask this question and she said I should call airline companies. Then she slamed the phone. It sounded like a phone made of stone.

I still don't know what's going on but I owe some apologies to my mates on jemsite. I was very upset yesterday, I've been a hot head, tired after a day of walk through the snow and cold, overreacted and talked like an *******. I am really sorry for the situation and problems I brought in here on jemsite. I apologize to all of you who read my stupid posts yesterday.

In the end I don't care what happened anymore. Some people who make rules and politics have a problem.

Hope policies won't turn worse.

My apologies to all of you again. Thank you!

Merry Christmas!

Don't worry man; if you call the airline company they are going to be in just as foul of a mood with all the holiday traffic and such. :-/

I feel bad for you man. Everyone has a bad day/week sometimes.

Have a good Christmas.

+1 on what Sonic P said. Take it easy dude. You certainly won't lose any friends on here I'd say.

Re: My apologies

Hey Oro, I totally understand the hot-headdedness. Truth be told, had I read your post yesterday before it was locked I would have laid into you. Today, I'm glad that I didn't get that opportunity. I would have been making you the easy target of my bad day. I'm sure that most of us Americans on Jemsite would help you make sure your friend got the book you intended to send the first time, even though were all a bunch of "smart guys"

Let us know if you need help in getting something done, but remember.... Most of us love our country, and many right here on the forums put their lives in harms way everyday, not just for our country, but for any country or people that ask for our assistance.

best regards
