Re: Nascar

I'm a fair-weather fan. I pull for J. Gordon, Johnson and Waltrip. I don't like Stewart, R. Gordon or the older Bush (Busch?).

Re: Nascar

Non Athletic Sport Centered Around Rednecks. That's what I think about nascar. Try growing up in Virginia in the good ol' US of A without getting sucked into the culture with the rest of them. It's all I hear about around here (that and WWE), and frankly, I could do without ever hearing it again.
There's my opinion on nascar

You're gonna have to eliminate your "attention seeking while annoying others" status real quick here (if you wish to keep posting). Statements like this are beyond absurd, even to those of us who don't like nascar or any auto racing whatsoever

A race is a race... glen

Re: Nascar

Why's that? I didnt say anything rude. people here say far worse. Whats wrong with an opinion on a particular race? Thats what forums are for. My intention isn't to offend anyone, and in my above post I made no reference to anyone. And "attention seeking while annoying others", nope, wrong there.

I wonder what would have happened if anyone else said it.

Funny, but I disagree. The "non athletic" part is certainly open to debate.

Cool.Been watching every race since we got it on nasn channel(fourth season).
Earnhardt jr is my fave.Great driver and i admire they way he conducts himself and is his own person despite having massive expectations on his shoulders (cool sponsor too). So i was really happy last night,GREAT win.Was hard staying awake coz with the time difference it started at midnite here, and a few beers didn't help!!!
Also like tony stewart and jeff gordon.Really like biffle but he drives for ford though, and i drive a chevy

Maybe if they got out and pushed the cars, or ran half the race on foot. THAT'd be athletic

Re: Nascar

these guys are athletic. not in the "track and field" arena but be realistic about it...

they're in better shape then many pro athletes i see in NFL, MLB, etc. They intensely drive cars for 2-3 hours at a clip, steer the car (those are not power assist luxury cars), absorb WHIPLASH injuries over and over per race as well as face physical and mental endurance, etc... glen

Re: Nascar

And anybody that thinks any different has never driven faster than my Grandmother.

Ever try to heel toe with PRECISION in a 2G turn? Ever sit in the sauna WHILE you exercise? Ever exercise at a maximum stress level, for 3-4 hours straight? Anybody? We're not talking about golfers here.
