Necro bumping threads

Doesn't it just make you wanna come through the internet and punch a mother f*er sometimes?

Like "hey, did I really just have to re-read all that again?"

C'mon, dude. Get with this week's program. If I wanted to deal with stuff from 2 years ago, I'd call my ex.

Re: Necro bumping threads

I don't see whats really wrong with it if they are bumping to ask a question, which is the case most of the time.

Otherwise its odd, but doesn't make me violent...

Re: Necro bumping threads

Sometimes it's relevant, but bumping an 8 year old "Should I buy a Les Paul or a Strat?" thread is just stupid. Funny, but stupid.

Re: Necro bumping threads

Stupidity might play a role, but more often the "similar threads" feature and the search function will give results from the entire history of Jemsite, and it's easy to overlook the date. The font, color, layout . . .every aspect of the appearance is the same whether it's an old thread or new one.

A simple solution is for every post in a very old thread, you get a confirmation message along the lines of, "The last post in this thread was more than one year ago; do you still want to post your reply?"

Peace

Mike
