New Car

So I have been out casually shopping for a new(used) car the last 6 months or so. I was a little reluctant, because I haven't had car payments for over two years, and my Camaro still has some life in her.
I happened to be driving by a dealership and thought hey I got some time, maybe I'll see what they have......to make a long story short, the price was right, the mileage was right, and this car was on the top of my list of possibilities

So here I am 2 days later with this in my driveway:

2003 Monte Carlo SS!!

Just thought I'd share where I've been the past few days.

Re: New Car

Nice and candy. Reminds me of JS1200....(Sorry I am now a guitar freak. I will associate everything with Ibanez)

Not bad! Throw some Llumar ATR 15 on it, and you'll be set!

Thanks! Yeah I need to get out to the beach and get some pics down by the water sans dumpsters.

Thanks, I'm getting an alarm installed next week, and then next month I'm gonna use some of my bonus and get the windows tinted.

A good tint job can be pretty cheap and last a lifetime.

In FL, I wouldn't spend more that $150 and I would get a good film, a la Solargard or Llumar. There is nothing worse than having to redo a bad tint job. I've been lucky (mainly because one of my friends owns his own tinting company).

Considering your car is red, I would go with Llumar ATR. 30 front and 15 back.

It will look classy, and won't be a cop magnet.

P.S. An '03 should have a good enough stock alarm system on it.

Cool!
It has keyless entry, and theft deterrent for the radio, but no alarm. I had the dealership throw in the alarm,, so its all good.

Yeah I saw this red car with 35% on the front and 15% on the back window and thought it looked real good.

Re: New Car

Nice man, I had an 86 Monte Carlo with a 305, that was my second favorite car next to my Camaro.

Re: New Car

Thanks Guys. It has the 3.8 V6 putting out about 200hp.
Peppy, with better fuel economy than a V8.

There you go.

That looks good. Llumar is the only way to go with charcoal, and I definitley wouldn't recommend reflective (which is what I have, but my car is silver).

Sorry, POS Phone Cam pic...

I went with my friend to test drive a new Vette 2 days ago. Not only do they have keyless entry, they have keyless ignition and no door handles inside. You just push a button and the window rolls down a little bit, and the door pops open. When you shut the door the window rolls back up. Pointless, but still a little on the cool side.

Thats crazy! I was amazed that with the Onstar system(I don't have) they can unlock your doors for you with just a phone call to them.

Whats a new Vette going for these days?
