New Car Day

Hey all. Just picked up what has been a bucket list thing for about the last 10-12 years.
Was never a mustang fan, but in 04 when they switched to the more retro body stye I decided I had to have on, but there was no way it was in the budget. FF a few years, new and better jobs I finally picked this up. 2013 GT. Now I need to learn how to drive stick. I have it 95%

Re: New Car Day

Nice color!

You mean you never drove a stick?! I'd say it's like riding a bike, but, that's only if you ever rode a bike

Re: New Car Day

Never had to learn. Dad tried taking me out in his 67 Nova, but it was ridiculously hard to learn on and the last thing I wanted to do was mess up that car.

Re: New Car Day

Depends on what was in the Nova, probably easier to learn on a straight 6 than a 396

Hit a parking lot, take off the traction control, hold it at 4500 and drop the clutch. You'll get the hang of it fast!

Re: New Car Day

327 with high performance rear end. It kind of screams...well I thought it did until we took the Mustang out

Re: New Car Day

The big misconception that old muscle cars were powerful. They weren't compared to today. My 370Z has as much real HP as a 426 Hemi did.

Re: New Car Day

It's definitely quick, but by his own admission the Mustang would kill it

Re: New Car Day

If it's a GT you have more HP than a 426 Hemi. We don't have the torque, but cars today are way quicker and faster than anything muscle car era. I wouldn't tangle with you but I could take out any V6 stang.

That's the color of the car I'm shopping for, or pearl white. Whichever comes first at this point, 5 months in and I'm becoming inpatient!

Re: New Car Day

The stripe is what sold me on this color. I wanted the smoke gray with black stripes. I think Mustang guys call it the Eleanor, either way this was close enough to what I was looking for after factoring in price and mileage.

It's a GT so I think its rated at 420HP 390lb torque

Re: New Car Day

Yup, I'm not messing with you. Well, maybe. You'd have to hook up and make no rookie shifts, and I'd have to get you off the line! But I'd have a slim chance

Re: New Car Day

If you start hearing a knocking sound that sounds like the muffler is loose, it's the bushings in the rear sway bar. The front will start knocking, same issue, further down the road. Don't use the Ford replacement parts for this issue. For DiMarzio type of mods, americanmuscle.com
