Nice I'm gonna go out on a limb and make a prediction for next season - the Leafs will still suck...

Savor the flavor, elcid! Great win!

I'm wondering where Rick Nash and Can Talbot are going.

Re: NHL '15-'16 BS Thread

Preface: I grew up in Chicagoland "Region" if ya liked hockey you rooted for the Hawks...and maybe the Penguins cuz they had a great Mario Jersey, which I still have. Hawks are going to lose some supporting cast from what I saw. The Hawks are who they are because of their supporting cast. We need durable defensemen and to have more than 4. Kind of like the Detroit years in the late 80's-90's Fedorov, Yzerman and Shanahan could only do so much by themselves.

MY wife is into Hockey now. Finally something we can both get excited about. Go Hawks!!! Some of it may be her crush on Sharp but I will take what I can get.

Re: NHL '15-'16 BS Thread

So... who do you guys hope will be most improved next season?
The Oilers and Sabers have two picks in both rounds one and two. I really hope the Sabers can turn it around.
I really hope the Panthers can improve on last year too. We pick at 11 in the first and not again until the third round. We need to nab one or two big names from other teams too. Maybe Sharp? Or Justin Williams? I don't know if that's anywhere possible or if those guys even want to come here.
As much as I like Mike Richards I'd say the Cats should stay away. Not that Richards isn't good; I still have confidence he can bounce back. The Cat's have just been a retirement home of sorts over the last decade or so and that needs to end. They need to stop rolling the dice on shaky veterans.

I'm hoping for the Hawks to improve next season, after winning this year I'm more pissed about them losing to the kings last year.

Re: NHL '15-'16 BS Thread

My Canucks need to improve! I want all the Canadian teams to improve because it's now been about 22 years since a Canadian team won a Cup, which bothers me immensely. The Oilers stick out to me as a team that needs to improve the most. With all those talented top draft picks it's crazy that they are still basement dwellers in the NHL.

Maybe the Kings will take it again next year - kind of like a joint-custody thing. haha!

Also, looks like they are changing O.T. To 3 on 3 for 5 minutes

Re: NHL '15-'16 BS Thread

I'm not down with the 3 on 3. I used to love the shootout when it was rare but as part of OT it's getting old. They used to call it the most exciting play in sports but I never thought it was. The shorthanded goal is!
Ekblad got the Calder. Hoping we can do better next year before Bettman and Panthers ownership decide to move the team.
Speaking of which who, if anyone, do you think will get an expansion / relocated team? The handler guy was on my Facebook with the Cup on the High Roller ferris wheel in Las Vegas. Subtle hint???

Justin Williams to the Capitals. This makes me sad.
I can't believe the Panthers haven't locked down Huberdeau with a new contract. Our top points guy and the cheapo Panthers still haven't re-signed him - and they have the balls to ask for season ticket sales and renewals. I can only imagine what might happen if he went somewhere else suddenly. I would be done with them because such crap is far too common with the team.

Re: NHL '15-'16 BS Thread

Yeah, it kind of sucks to see Saad leave too. He did help bring the Hawks two Stanley Cups but it is interesting, at least to me, to see what these guys can do for other teams. IMO there are too many teams in the NHL and it waters down the talent I think. And now Betmann wants to add two teams (or relocate them) AND you have players going to the KHL.
I've been hoping to see a big name signed by the Panthers, because we do need some scoring badly, but I'm doubting that will happen.
It was good to see Brad Richards get a bit of redemption too after being dumped by the Rangers. Glen Sather is no longer GM there so we'll have to see what that means. I hope they trade Rick Nash - maybe to Saint Louis where post-season choking is the norm.
Good to see Kris Versteeg get another one too.
