NRBD: New Custom Build Road Bike

I put this custom road bike together from separate parts.

Build completed today. Bike comes in at dead on 7kgs, just 0.2kgs heavier than the UCI weight limit.

Frameset: Kuota Kuraro Full Carbon Frame and Fork.

Wheels: Sram S60 Deep Carbon Aero.

Groupset: Full Shimano Ultegra 6700

Bars: Deda Zero 100 Oversize 31.8/44cms

Stem: Deda Zero 2

Saddle: Prologo Zero II PAS

Pedals: Look Keo

Dark here in the UK when got around to shooting some pics so excuse the crappy indoor pics. Will get better ones taken outdoors soon.

LOL!! Nice one. I think this is like only the 3rd or 4th
thing I've posted on Jemsite over the years that didn't
have an Edge or a Lo Pro on it.

Re: NRBD: New Custom Build Road Bike

I'm a bike freak!
I like the colors and the bike.

I've got way tooo many MTB, 20" and 24" BMX bikes.

I never could get in to leaning that far forward on a road bike or the idea of dressing up like a bug in spandex.

Ha! Ha! The Lycra is crucial man!! Thanks for the kind words Sebastian.

I'd be interested to know what bikes you got. I used to be
a big BMX guy back in the 80's. Had a 2nd Gen Haro Master,
Kuwahara Lazer Lite, Skyway T/A and Mongoose Supergoose
amongst others.

Thanks man, much appreciated!! Build just finished this evening
after dark I'm afraid, lots of rain here too as well. I'll hopefully get
a 40-50 mile blast on her tomorrow all being well. She's lovely and
light, when the frameset arrived from Holland I thought the box was
empty, lol! I'll need to make a few minor tweaks tomorrow to saddle
angle etc and get new cleats fitted to my road shoes.

The bike takes a Press Fit Bottom bracket (PF30). I had to buy an adaptor to fit
the Ultegra Crankset as it came with a BB30 English Thread Bottom Bracket.

On installation for PF30:

Wow!! That's quite some collection Sebastian. Loving that PK Ripper. Always wanted one of those but they never seemed to make it to UK shores back in the 80's although we did get the Quadangles which were also made by SE Racing if memory serves me correct. Do you ride all those bikes regularly?

Re: NRBD: New Custom Build Road Bike

this is an awesome thread.. Love your guys' bikes. I was a BMX kid as well, sadly no photos from that time but here is a stock photo of the the Hutch I used to have. If I remember right, mine was a darker shade of pink.. more like an Ibanez
