Orianthi and Richie

Now dating, I wonder what they do in their spare time.

Re: Orianthi and Richie

Wow! Old enough to be her dad!

Spare time? Nah, no comment. It's too easy to start talking about G-strings, plucking, and breaking. :P

Re: Orianthi and Richie

He's 26 years older than her but they would make killer guitar playing kids if that's the plan. I don't see anything wrong with it and she is 29. But how many kids do you know who want to do what their parents did, regardless of occupation.

I've seen that girl last year during a show with alice cooper (rock meets classics), worth nothing: her attitude on stage regarding the other musicians was like she's the best of the world and you are only dust. Even her volume was overall way louder than the 2 other guitarists.
Her style, phrasing, feeling is really crappy to me, I can't stand this marketing puppet having such unjustified reputation and success

Re: Orianthi and Richie

Orianthi and Alice Cooper parted ways and Orianthi went into a project/tour with Sambora. But who to fill her shoes? That would be Ibanez endorser Nita Strauss:

Nita's very cool and humble. She rocks my socks.

Re: Orianthi and Richie

I'm not a big fan, myself.
Most of her stuff is really 'pop' oriented and I'm not into that... although I kind of liked 'According to You' and the instrumental she did with Vai.
My fiance says the only appeal she really has is that she's hot.
MEN!
All they care about, boobs and butts.

Well, since most guitars have a fairly 'feminine' shape....it stands to reason.
A friend refers to his guitars as his 'girls'. I asked him why and he said, "Well, they have nice curves and I like to fondl...hey! How about The Herd last Saturday? Didn't they kick some ass."
LOL

+1.

But, after hearing more of her stuff I think the licks and phrases she used aren't really part of her repertoire.

I'm thinking maybe Vai said, "Nice, what if you did something like this <weedly wee>".... and then she went, "OH cool! That's much cooler", then parroted each part.

Seems that way anyway.

Re: Orianthi and Richie

I try to look past the fact that Nita Strauss is gorgeous and see her as what she is - an amazing amazing guitar player!
But, wow, is she gorgeous!

100% agree with this. I can play nearly as good as her. The only reason she is famous is because she is a good-looking girl "shredding." Richie can play circles around her and Vai can play circles around Richie and double circles around her. If you go search her playing at the PRS Experience with her playing a Hendrix song. Paul is making all kinds of faces behind her like, "quit, stop etc" because she just wouldn't stop soloing. It is embarrassing for her. LAME!
