Most of you guys may or may not of heard about the Demolition
that occurred this past Monday for the Lakeview smokestacks located near Port Credit.
Then again Not too many of you guys are from the Toronto Canada area.......
Any ways last Monday, on June 11th we had a land mark
taken down that was used by sailors as a guide
The smoke stacks were erected in 1962 and have dominated the waterfront
for more than 50 years. They were 150 metre-tall smokestacks that were known as the 4-sisters.
I attended the event and snapped a few pics for us to see. I ended up tresssp[assing on the private property to
get a front row seat so to speak...
The whole thing happened in under 40 seconds.
At 7:31 am there was a series of 8 loud Bangs (sounded like thundering gun shots)
Within 5 seconds after that the first sister started her descent much slowly at first then
dropped effortlessly to the ground.
At mid point the smokestack couldn't handle her own weight and snapped in half like
a twig before even touching the ground.
It was a sight to see. It ended up costing 13 Million dollars
just to have these demo-ed, hmmmmm
That's a **** load of Ibanez's if you ask me...
