Quit smoking :x

Hey, I've noticed I have been more of an ass lately than usual. Just wanted to say sorry for that, I have been a smoker (pack and half a day plus or minus) for 19 years. I quit and have been smoke free for almost a month now. I tried the little Zyban pill and it just made me ridiculously sick and gave me horrible migraines. Took that for 2 days and had to stop. I had the nicotine gum, used that for about 2 weeks and then stopped that and switched to regular gum. Now I have some plain gum that is supposed to make your teeth whiter while you chew it, and let me tell you, I am chewing the bejeezus out of it. So, smoke free, almost a month, nicotine free about 2 weeks. So, sorry for being a bigger ass than usual...

Re: Quit smoking :x

Still smoke here.... about six or seven cigs a day..... a pack will last about three days. Mostly after eating lunch and dinner. I've tried to quit a couple of times. Lasted a year at best (smoke free). Then always started back after a night of partying or some other lam excuse. I always did the "cold turkey" deal though, and after a couple of days wasn't so bad. Back when I smoked a "pack a day"..... I think half the time it was just to have something in my hand. Now, I actually enjoy them after a good meal or with a good drink. Never have smoked first thing in the morning though. I don't see how someone can wake up and light up a cig. and then eat breakfast. Anyway..... good for you, hang in there. And I thought being in the military required you to be an ass???? Blew that theory all to hell....

There are FAR more enjoyable alternatives to a cigarette there

Re: Quit smoking :x

Keep it up man. I quit cold turkey in 2004 and lasted 10 months before I decided to blow it. Now I'm slowly finding my way back toward the quit train again. It was a bitch those first two weeks but after that it seemed a breeze and I really enjoyed being smoke free. It's like one less thing you have to deal with everyday.

It's also one less thing all of us "Non-smokers" have to deal with everyday

Re: Quit smoking :x

Quit smoking a few years ago- I also used the gum. Quitting the gum was its own challenge, albeit not so tough as quitting smoking. After about the second week without nicotine things got easier. Good job!
