Scary near-miss

Man, the weather got rough today......... They were throwing tornado warnings at us faster than we could keep up........... Apparently my town was right in the crosshairs of one. Fortunately it missed us and hit our neighbors in Frankfort. I'm on my way there now. I have family there but they're all ok.

A pic of my back yard after the worst of it had passed:

Re: Scary near-miss

Thanks for the well wishes all... I really appreciate it!!

Everyone I know is ok...... but a lot of them took wind damage to one degree or another. One of my buddies has an oak tree in his kitchen now.......He always wanted to make a treehouse out of it.......DONE!!

LP- yeah, sadly tornados are VERY common in Illinois. most hit either the southern or western parts of the state, but we get two or three that wander around here every year.

They not only delayed the Bears-Ravens game...... they evacuated Soldier Field....... the first time in history that's happened.

Wow.

Yeah, it's just starting up over here. Fortunately it has to pass over a lot of land before it gets here, but there's some heavy thunderstorms now.

Glad it missed you!

Re: Scary near-miss

Glad you are ok. I just read that a former co-worker who moved to Illinois this summer lost his home.

Re: Scary near-miss

that is scary...glad you and your family are safe

@ Angra1 - that is very very sad that they lost their home...that would be so devastating...there are way too many horrible weather events these days...scary stuff for sure...

Glad to hear you, and everyone, is okay... not to diminish your friends situation; but wouldn't a tree in his kitchen be a 'house-tree', not a 'tree-house'?

I'm hoping that was funny, just trying to make you smile.
