Talking So how is school going?

Well, the first quarter of school just recently ended, and I was wondering how everyone did? Everywhere else in the world, do you guys measure the school year by four quarters? Three trimesters? Let me know......

Me? I got all A's, baby!!!!!! (For those of you who aren't familiar with the grading system in the U.S., we have LETTER grades. It goes like this: A, B, C, D, F. I don't know why they skipped "E". )

I know in Poland, they have 1-6 as their grades, and I'm PRETTY sure 6 is the best....right? Or am I wrong? I can never remember!

Re: So how is school going?

Congratulations on you A's.

When I went to school, a year consisted out of four semesters.

The grades out here in The Netherlands are on a scale from zero to ten. And then you have things like a 7,5 or a 7,6. Or you'd get an 8 +, or an 8 -. I still don't know what that meant. It couldn't have been the same as 7,9 and an 8,1. So it may have been what was between a 7,9 and an 8, and an 8 and an 8,1. Which is totally lame. Why include something like that in a grading system?

Kind regards,
Myst and rain

I'm almost certain that is right. I think 5 used to be the top grade a few years back.

Over here grades are scaled like this: 0.0, 0.3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13. I always thought it was a silly system.

Re: So how is school going?

Well, I've just finished my school term and am currently waiting for the results for a major exam that I took, which will come out some time after Christmas. It's based on the grade system too. In the meantime, I've about two months of football and lazing around before the next term starts.

Congrats on getting all A's, Katrina. That is awesome. I was always a B and C student when I was in high school.

And Jim, how can you call YOUR football rugby? Rugby is much more manlier, without the padding and all.
