So I'm getting gas in the new truck......

...on the Merrit Parkway in New Canaan yesterday- it's a major road in Fairfield County, CT. I just bought a Ford F150 SuperCrew and was filling up when this Wall Street Weasel in a Honda Civic pulls up behind me and starts to fill up. He says "wow, that's a big truck- must get terrible mileage" so I respond "yeah, but it's big and safe" (I just had a pretty bad accident -hence the new truck).

So he then says "I bet you have to fill up 3 times for every one time I fill up" and then I'm onto him and say " yup, I use way more than most drivers but it's OK- I don't mind".

So this idiot YELLS that HE minds- and I have no business using more fuel than other people.
He slammed his door and gave me the finger as he pulled out.

Unbelievable. You can't make this stuff up.

What gives him the right to use more fuel than the average person living in the Congo? F'ing tree hugging douche nozzle. I'd love to see him try something like that on a construction site.

what a loser. and maybe the yuppie thespian drives 100 miles to work one way whereas you drive 10. That would have been awesome if he backed into someone as he sped off giving you the finger. i'm all for recycling. i'll carry a bottle with me till i can get home and recycle it properly. i really do my part, however, this guy needs to wake up and think for himself instead of believing what all these political losers are trying to cram down our throats. i'll stop

you handled that quite well and were very calm. i wouldn't have been

Wow, that's messed up. Why do people feel they have the right to inject there ideas like that??? By his theory he's using to much gas compared to a electric vehicle. People need to learn to mind there own business! Its your right as a consumer to drive what you want...we do still live in America right? If you use more gas you spend more money and if that's ok with you then that's your prerogative and if people don't like it I would tell them to F*** off!

That's awesome. If I was in my truck I would just back over him and say that I didn't see him, but you have a new truck so I understand.

Yup - I think that's typical for the breed. He really was pissed - like I had no right to own/drive/support a vehicle of this type. I'm sure he told his friends he was a hero-of-the-cause.

I almost felt like an outlaw....think I'll put 35"-ers and a 5" lift kit on and go lookin for him ;^).

Maybe he ralized he cant change the world at 30mpg and regrets his small metal coffin.
Large vehicles WILL save your life. Maybe he is an out of work Sea Shepherd (They all should be arrested BTW). I drive a truck with an 8.1l big block gas engine that gets 8mpg. If jesus didnt want me to have it, he wouldnt have built it, lol.

Give 'em hell. He probably had his panties in a bunch because a) he overdosed on NPR during his commute and b) he was envious that you could afford to drop the coin on your rockin' truck AND the gas, while he stock-brokered his butt off just to make the payments on his Civic.
