Exclamation Socializing the U.S.A

How many out there are thinking that USA is spinning towards socialism? How many welcome the change?? I'm afraid of 40 years of the education system being taking over, there's not alot out there that know what the USA and it's founding principles were about.

Check this video out, very well put together.

I am pretty sure Darin holds the record for most threads started on Jemsite.

No. Read Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations. This nation was founded with the idea of a free-market economy in mind. That concept runs hand-in-hand with our personal freedoms.
I don't like the stimulus but I reckon it's kept us from seeing Hoovervilles in our major cities and much shooting in the streets! It was necessary... and appears to be working.

I can actually make my point simply with this.

The Americans you're thinking of are not the ones that voted this guy into office. Unfortunately we are outnumbered by those that hope to get something for nothing, and sheep that are easily fooled.

We are having a health care system shoved down our throats by politicians who won't use it themselves for people who don't have to pay for it.

That's funny because I voted for Obama... and I certainly busted my ass to get where I am now.
I think it's terrible to mischaracterize people who support the current plan as lazy people looking to be on the dole. It's almost as bad as stereotyping the proponents of the tea party movement as people who can be barely bothered to crack open a book or magazine and actually do a little reading up on what they're complaining about rather than parrot a line given to them by someone else. To be fair, there are lots of liberals that do that too!
Sheep indeed!

Re: Socializing the U.S.A

I personally think that Mr. Obama as president is and will be one of the worst things that's happened in this country in a long time. A socialist government is exactly what he's after, and throwing around tons of our money only decreases the value of the American dollar. We'll wait a year...if I turn out to be wrong, I'll apologize on this forum. If I'm right..you do it.

Re: Socializing the U.S.A

I personally don't care who's right or wrong so long as our country comes out of this mess intact. I don't care if the right or the left does it. I don't care if it's 13 field goals that wins the game as long as it gets won. I'm not interested in your appology. There are real people out there who are really suuffering. All I hear from the majority of red team is that they seem to hope the economy fails just so they can say they're right. What kind of idiocy is that?!? We're all in this together!
I tell you what. I'll do you one better. If I percieve that Obama is wrong for our country I'll vote for a Republican next time around; provided he's not the supreme idiot Bush was.
And I've voted for plenty of Republicans in my day!

Re: Socializing the U.S.A

Don't twist this. I don't want to see our country fail. A lot of this type of debate stems from the frustration of seeing our country in a donward spiral, and I'm afraid we're not going to pull out. And in all honesty.. I don't care Republican or Democrat anymore. All we can hope for is the lesser evil. It would be a happy day if I had to apologize for being wrong about Mr. O. I just don't see it happening.
