Red face Tequila

I like it in mixed drinks too, but my all time favorite way to enjoy Tequila is as a shot filled with tabasco and chased with an ice cold Rolling Rock.

Do that 10 times fast and the party rolls right along*

Re: Tequila

If I did that ten times fast, the only thing "rolling right along" would be my stomach.

Urrrgh.

I'm happy to talk tequila. Among the Mexicans who hosted me when I was there, the preferred way to take it was mixed with citrus (grapefruit, toronja) soda. They would mix real good tequila with this soda, and I can't figure out why. That stuff was so good, I drank it straight.

Re: Tequila

10 shots fast? LOL, I haven't ever got past 6, and every one of them is normally chased down with a pint.

Re: Tequila

hehehe nice pic!

I personally cannot stand Tequila. I prefer something a bit more bitter like Jagermeister.

Rolling Rock on the other hand is tasty! Shame we can't get it here anymore in the UK...

Red face Re: Tequila

^^^^That is a shame...I'm not a big fan of beer/ale/lager, but Rolling Rock suits me fine. It's one of the few beers I can stand to drink...

Re: Tequila

Tequilla is best in a Margaritta but shots are nice.
Teala Tequilla is a skank, IMO! You can almost FEEL all the diseases crawling all over her in that pic.

Re: Tequila

Tequila is the only thing I wont touch, bad experience when I was 16. When I was a bartender I hated making tequila drinks. Whiskey on the rocks and Im a happy guy.

Re: Tequila

Tequila is pretty much the only hard liquor I will drink. I like mine silver, especially Patron. I'm not into the reposada or anejo's; I don't see the point. I wouldn't waste Patron on a Margarita though (or anything other than just straight up, no salt no lime or other training wheels), for that I'd use a Sauza or something. Sammy's Cabo Wabo isn't too bad either, but it's not quite as good as Patron. It is pretty damn good though, but again, I only buy the silver stuff so I don't know how the Cabo stuff stands up to another reposado if that's what you like.

And 10 shots with 10 pint chasers is nuts I might have tried it in '80, but not now

Re: Tequila

I'm mainly into micro-brews and amber ales. When I have hard liquor, I prefer a 12 yr old Irish whisky like Michael Collins or Bushmill's. I also enjoy a nice Kentucky Bourbon like Maker's Mark, Jim Beam or Heaven Hill on occasion.

Re: Tequila

Last summer I was out one night and drank a half bottle of tequila.

I awoke the next morning in my bedroom, confused, fully dressed and soaked in rainwater.

I still have no idea how I got home.

I'm thinking tequila might be a drink worth passing on in future, I'll stick with the Guinness where the Guinness is good, and Corona where it isn't.

An Irishman who drinks Corona? Can't they deport you from Ireland for that?
Cheers! Just kidding!

Tequila on its own is bad news. I've had similar experiences...lol!

The leprechauns probably found you in a doorway or gutter: "Ah look here... It's little Tommy Gilroy and he's smashed out of his mind on tequila! Let's get him home and we'll play his Jem while he sleeps it off...
