Carbon fiber instrument cases have been around for a while now. I believe the first company to exclusively make them was Accord Case, a Croatian company. accordcase
In the U.S. there is Hoffee Cases, Inc. Hoffee Cases, inc. - Acoustic Guitar Cases, Musical Instrument Cases, Custom Guitar Cases
.....there are many case companies selling cases made of "who knows what."
So, I want to establish that carbon fiber cases, specifically guitar cases, are a thing. Bowed stringed instruments are the largest market though. Outside of Accord Cases, the most precise specification I have found in marketing material is that a particular company uses "real carbon fiber" and then explains the different colors available. Bicycles and supercars are where I have learned the most about carbon fiber in practical use. I have also learned a little bit from U.S. carbon fiber producers but those were not tremendously helpful.
Due to the lack of transparency, rising prices, and a gradual decline in quality, I am looking outside the music industry for someone with information and possibly guidance on who to talk to and what to expect. I would like two cases for both of my classical guitars. I know these cases will be expensive, but I have been thinking about this for a long time and additional ideas have come up.
So, if anyone is in the composite materials business, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to understand your business better.
