Re: That/those purchase(s) you wish you could have made

A guy I went to school with and whom I saw on occasion had picked up a UVMC. He didn't really play, but he thought they looked cool.
They next time I saw him, I asked how his guitar was, and he informed me he had needed some money and taken it to the pawn shop and sold it out right to them for $300, just the week before. Of course when I called the pawn shop it was long gone.....I didn't know if I should kick myself or him

Cool Re: That/those purchase(s) you wish you could have made

Yep!!! I missed out on a PMC that Rich eneded up buying for real cheap!!!
granted it had some damage on it but it was still worth it!
VSK badly faded $700 (Could have had it refinished by my buddy Nate)
VDY 6 out of 10 condition still just $700 (Same as above)
JPM90HAM $1800 Technomancer was selling it here! I was going nuts trying to get the cash together but he sold it before I got all the dough!
ESP Kami III sold for $1200

Re: That/those purchase(s) you wish you could have made

I saw last weekend a PERFECT 1964 Super Reverb (Blackface) WITH the original Jensen speakers, the original transformer, and the original matching bottom cabinet, all for only $2000. A Super Reverb in that condition with all the original parts is a very rare find, much less for that price.

A Custom Shop Wolfgang for $2700 approx.

Not that it was a deal, but I had the money at the time, a JSPRM for $5300, not a steal but I had the money then, damn.

1997 - Music Go Round Madison, Wisconsin. UV777GR $500.00 American mint condition. I was a broke student, and a decade later I still wake up at night thinking about it. I should have robbed a liqour store or something.

I think the only thing I regret is not buying a Jem7VWH with ebony neck and lo-pro edge.... new.

Re: That/those purchase(s) you wish you could have made

I remember when they discontinued the RG3120. A few online retailers were blowing them out in the $4-500 range. I wish I had jumped on that, as I've always wanted one, and still do.

However, the fact that I'm about to score a 1998 Jem vwh for $750 makes me feel a little better.

Okay, a LOT better.

Re: That/those purchase(s) you wish you could have made

Our local GC had a Jem 10th that I'd played. I could have had it for I think $1500.
I regret not grabbing the USRG30 I demoed there too, I think it was also $1500, and of course the original JPM P1 model, also $1500. Aside from that, I can't help but regret the original Small stone phaser I demolished in a fit of teen angst and rage. I paid 20 bucks for it used.

Re: That/those purchase(s) you wish you could have made

On Monday, at Guitar Center, I saw a Washburn X Series guitar. It had a mahogany body, a flamed maple top, 24 frets, EMGs, and the Buzz Feiten tuning system. It was only $250, but only for that day. I didn't buy it, and I've been beating myself up wondering why I didn't.

Started getting excited about the possibility of the two items, only to find out that people had camped out overnight and the guys at the store decided to give them first preference at about 7.am

I personally don't think that was very fair for everybody else, but easy come, easy go, as they say.

I'm still really disappointed on missing out on that Marshall cabinet and the Seagull acoustic though.
Now that's just infuriating.
