Re: Two Photo's I Took

It's a little un balanced, your eye is drawn to only a very small portion of the photo (the lens). The ring of the lens with the writing on it probably should be out of frame because it's distracting and there should be a little more of the glass visible to balance out the large negative space on the other side of the photo. Other than that it's very good.

Keep at it Eddie, they're getting better.

I like the black and white one better because the background is less busy and the focus is more on the camera lens.

Re: Two Photo's I Took

I don't like either since both lack a focal point and are essentially totally OOF (out of focus) with no message or story to tell the viewer.

it's fun to experiment with a camera but i know you can do alot better as both look like cell-phone photos.

what was your intended focal point with the shallow DOF? the B&W has focus on the table in front of the lens. even if you had an object reflecting in the glass and focused on that it would be too esoteric for the viewer.

i don't have time to shoot "objects" nowadays 99% of my photography is people but the same concepts apply in that any picture you take should explain themselves to the viewer... glen

I agree with this. It's what I wasthinking as I looked at the photos.

Glen has valid points, but I think that the focus for me was on the left side of the camera lens and the "story" is self-reflection. A camera taking a picture of another camera kinda makes me wonder what the lens in the picture sees.

I instantly thought of the paradox of a photo of a camera as well. I like the table they are on too, has some character. While some may pick at the technical issues in the photos I think the picture itself has some spirit to it.

Re: Two Photo's I Took

I like the color better, Just because it seemed my eye was drawn to the imperfections in the table and they seemed more defined in the color photo.

No offense, but I don't get it! Horrible pictures. What is the point?

Re: Two Photo's I Took

not all photos are going to "make sense" to the average person. i liked the first one better out of the 2. the B&W is a bit washed out, not enough contrast. i also like how the color photo brings out the steel-blue dark look of the wood and camera. the photos aren't too out of balance...that fence in the background on the left really helped to save you. DOF is one of my favorite things.
