UK/ARCTIC Weather Conditons

Looks like us UK guys are snowed in for xmas. Weather's been bloody terrible of late. Has it affected you in any way?? Temperature at a Weather Station close to where I live recorded an all time record low of -18 degrees Celsius a few nights back. Lots of people stranded at Heathrow Airport too. We are totally unprepared for this type of weather but there are lots of other countries who cope with these conditions no probs.

Re: UK/ARCTIC Weather Conditons

I remember spending a few days in NJ last winter. What we're dealing with at the moment is a joke compared to what our overseas amigos have to deal with.

That said I've already had to work from home more than once this winter as I can't get my little hatchback out of the drive LOL !!!

My point exactly Jono. It's run of the mill to these other countries so I think we need to adopt their ways of dealing with this adverse weather.

I got a J Custom incoming from Finland. Posted on 14th December. No sign of it yet. Tracking number hasn't progressed in a week now (15th Dec). Little or no hope of having it before xmas.

I've seen some pictures from your "chaos"... It was amusing!

I'm sure there are a few inches more snow in Finland, your guitar will be pleased with the new improved conditions.

Re: UK/ARCTIC Weather Conditons

We deal with large amounts of snowfall and VERY high winds here in the Chicago area, however we rarely get more than 12 inches of snow in a single event (although we've gotten more than two feet at times). Around here, if you don't have a large 4-wheel drive truck (or large SUV with off road tires, as in my case) you will be screwed for a few hours. The plow trucks always seem to make it here in short enough time though

My advice: get the biggest, gas guzzling, eco destroying, planet warming 4-wheel drive that you can find. When everyone around you is snowed-in and running low on supplies, you'd be surprised how much they would pay for you help whether its taking them to the market, or pulling their now useless car out of the ditch!!!

Christmas cancelled due to snow. Oh cruel irony.

Also, Santa died: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...ticle76665.ece

We're not having a good one this year.

I'm sure most of us will survive a week without going to the store. If you can't get anywhere, the best option is often to stay inside. We got these:

No need to move the snow around.

Ha! Ha! Rockin!! Want!! But hold on..wouldn't the lack of cab on that baby leave you vulnerable to some type of wind chill and hence cryonic suspension??? ;-)
